Welcome to our practice

Children have their own health care needs. We built a practice around them.

Children and adolescents have unique health care needs — physical, developmental, social and emotional — which we believe are best managed by pediatric health practitioners.

Our team consists of experienced, compassionate providers and friendly, nurturing staff who take pride in giving personalized, age- and stage-specific care of the highest quality. Annual health and behavioral health maintenance visits give your child the chance to build trust and rapport with their pediatrician and nurse practitioner.

Caring for your child's health is a collaborative effort between parent, child, pediatrician and nurse practitioner. You are an important part of that team.

Our mission

As a small, family-friendly pediatric practice, we pride ourselves in offering individualized pediatric health care of the highest quality available. Only by working together can we ensure coordinated, excellent care for your child.

Well child visits

Checkups, on the AAP schedule.

Regular well-care visits are the best chance to follow your child's physical, psychological and developmental growth, screen for illness, give immunizations and get to know one another. Newborns are seen at 2–5 days old (plus weight checks until birth weight is regained), then:

  • 1month
  • 2months
  • 4months
  • 6months
  • 9months
  • 12months
  • 15months
  • 18months
  • 24months
  • 30months
  • 3years
  • 4+every year

Screenings at visits

Following AAP guidelines we conduct photo vision screening, postpartum depression screening, and screenings for developmental issues, depression and autism. Massachusetts requires coverage of an annual mental health wellness exam in addition to the annual physical.

Expecting? Come say hello.

Call to schedule a prenatal “get acquainted” meeting. When your baby is born at an affiliated hospital, tell your obstetrician and hospital staff you've chosen Gleason & Greenfield — we'll be notified of the birth.

FAQs

Common questions.

Don't see yours? We're always available to answer questions — call (508) 748-1313.

A pediatrician is a medical doctor who specializes in the care of children, with special training in the health and illnesses of infants, teens and young adults. Pediatricians provide preventive care for healthy children and medical care for those who are acutely or chronically ill, and support parents on growth and development, safety, nutrition and emotional wellness.

Yes — we strongly encourage parents-to-be to visit for a prenatal appointment. It's a great way to get acquainted, and we'll answer any questions about our practice or your new child.

Not only when sick. Well-care visits begin in infancy and follow the AAP schedule (see Well Visits above), then once a year for a health supervision visit that includes a physical exam and developmental, behavioral and learning assessment. Behavioral wellness exams are also recommended yearly.

Call during business hours (we begin taking sick-visit calls at 8:00 AM, and whenever possible see sick patients the same day). Well-child visits can also be requested through Patient Gateway — but please don't use the portal for urgent visits.

Yes, we always welcome new patients. Call the office for more information.

Immunizations are a series of shots that ward off serious, potentially fatal childhood diseases; according to the AAP they have reduced infections from vaccine-preventable diseases by more than 90%. Our practice follows the AAP immunization guidelines and believes all children should receive the recommended vaccines. If you're apprehensive, we're happy to talk it through at your child's next visit.

We loved this office… They ALWAYS had an appointment same-day when we needed a note for daycare because of a fever or symptom, always sent requested documents quickly, and they are so kind and welcoming.

I have been bringing my kids here since they were born and now my grand babies come here… they are awesome and I would recommend them to anybody.

I drive from Taunton to Marion just for this level of service… Here I feel like they are part of my family and they care about me and my family.

I've been with them since my daughter was 3, never once had a problem. The staff is amazing and extremely helpful.
